The Banyule Award for Works on Paper is awarded biennially to an outstanding contemporary work on paper. The winning artwork entered into the Banyule Art Collection.
The theme for the 2019 Banyule Award for Works on Paper is 'Threshold'.
The world stands at the threshold of change - for better or worse, it's up to us.
The theme for the award this year calls on artists to submit artworks that express, explore, advocate, or address current social, cultural, political or environmental issues.
For this year only, the Banyule Arts & Culture team invite artists aged 16-25 (must turn 16 by June 30th 2019) to enter, with their own prize category in the exhibition - the $1000 Youth Prize.
The Banyule Award for Works on Paper is a national art prize, with a $13,000 prize pool. If selected for the finalists’ exhibition, you will be part of an amazing exhibition that will include some well-known Australian artists, and people travel from all over to see the exhibition. It’s an amazing opportunity! There will be special consideration for artists aged 16-25 to be exhibited in their own category.
