Banyule Youth Services proudly work with and support young people from refugee, asylum seeker and migrant backgrounds.

The Banyule Youth Summit was held in May 2018. Young people came together with like-minded peers to discuss topics they’re passionate about. A range of topics were covered, one being the topic of Asylum Seekers and Refugees.

The  young people at the Summit were passionate about showcasing the positive contribution that refugees make to our community. They created a project they called “Made Australia Home”. Made Australia Home consists of a video that gives a voice to four young refugees who are now settled in Australia. It aims to challenge stereotypes and raise awareness about the refugee struggle whilst highlighting how much richer our community is because of them. It's also a poster campaign that featured on bus shelters throughout Banyule during Cultural Diversity Week (16th-24th March 2019).
