We will have groups running at Jets as well as the option to dial in at home using zoom.

Check table below for details.

Please read through all the info provided so you are prepared, as there will be a number of things that are different.

Please check with staff if you have any questions.

An ONLINE dial in option may be available for your program - talk to staff to find out more.

NB - Jets is still negotiating what recording and community bookings we can take. Please call us to talk through what we can offer.

We thank you for your patience and cooperation through this time.

Safety Measures

Jets staff have been working hard to implement changes to ensure the safety of all Jets users. Some changes we have made include:

  • Increased cleaning of the facility including regular cleaning of equipment and gear
  • Please stay home if you are unwell
  • It is optional to wear a mask at Jets. We will let you know if this changes in the future. Jets will have disposable masks for you to wear and take home should you need one
  • Hand sanitising stations throughout the facility
  • Reduced number of programs each night so that there are less people in the space & to respect social distancing guidelines
  • You must sign in and sign out
  • You must complete the DHHS QR code sign in each time you visit Jets
  • Staff have been trained in implementing new cleaning routines
  • You must be enrolled in your program. Please check with your facilitator about this
  • Packaged food and drink options including an outdoor area
  • Numbers of people in the space are restricted to physical distancing requirements
  • Staff will greet you and support you to enter and use the space as safely as possible

Young people: What you need to know

With the changes at Jets, there are some things young people who are coming into the space need to know.

Masks: It is optional to wear a mask at Jets. We will let you know if this changes in the future. Jets will have disposable masks for you to wear and take home should you need one.

Stay home: If you are feeling unwell or have any of the following symptoms: fever, runny nose or a sore throat, please stay home. If you do attend unfortunately you will be asked to leave. Chat to your program facilitator about joining in via video chat!

Hand washing: Please wash your hands using the hand sanitiser in the hall. We have heaps of hand sanitiser throughout Jets too!

Signing in & out: its important that when you arrive at Jets, you sign in and when you leave, you sign out. This helps us know who has been at Jets.

DHHS QR CODE sign in: You must complete the DHHS QR code sign in each time you visit Jets. You can download the app on your phone or we can provide you with an iPad to sign in.

Distancing: We have set up the Jets space to help with distancing. We ask all young people to help us by keeping 1.5 meter distance from others in the facility. Some spaces will be closed to help with this initially.

Bring your own water bottle: To limit touching of taps and cups, please bring your bottle!

Bring your own headphones: if you need headphones, please bring your own.

Food: we have had to change some of our food options but there still is plenty to eat! There is noodles, popcorn and heaps of packaged snacks

Make sure you are enrolled: Because we can only have limited people at Jets at one time, you will need to be enrolled so staff know who is coming. Check with your facilitator to make sure you are enrolled.

Should I come or not?

Families & carers

We wanted to share some important information with you as we prepare Jets to open. While we are looking forward to the fun of program time and learning, our other goal is making sure we stop the spread of COVID19 by observing these steps:

  • If your young person seems unwell (runny nose, headache, sore throat, fever or are short of breath), please keep them at home
  • If your young person has presented with flu symptoms, please keep them home until they are completely well – advice says get a covid test
  • If your young person becomes unwell at Jets please be prepared to collect them as soon as possible
  • We will have a dial in option so young people can still participate

Other changes at Jets to keep everyone safe include:

  • Numbers of people in the space are restricted to physical distancing requirements
  • It is optional to wear a mask at Jets. We will let you know if this changes in the future. Jets will have disposable masks for you to wear and take home should you need one
  • Handwashing: Please wash your hands using the hand sanitiser on the wall in the hall on entry, in the foyer and above the kitchen
  • 1.5 metre rule, like everyone in Australia at the moment, we will be observing the physical distancing 1.5 metre rule. We have set up the space to assist with this.
  • Enrolment: Make sure young people are enrolled, we can’t have people dropping in (see timetable above for more details)
  • Sign in sheet: everyone that comes to Jets will need to sign in/ out to maintain community health
  • DHHS QR CODE sign in: You must complete the DHHS QR code sign in each time you visit Jets. You can download the app on your phone or we can provide you with an iPad to sign in.
  • We ask families who drop off and collect to stay outside of the building as we can’t fit everyone in and maintain our social distancing
  • We will be providing packaged food and drinks for young people

We thank you for supporting these measures. Please do not hesitate to contact staff if you have any questions or need to let us know anything.
