Education Assistance (Financial Support)

Camps, Sports & Excursions Fund (CSEF)
What can be provided:  financial assistance for students to attend activities including school camps or trips, swimming and school sport programs, excursions and incursions. $125 per year for primary or $225 per year for secondary school students.
Eligibility: Families must have a child attending a Victorian Government primary or secondary school and must hold a Centrelink Concession Card.
How to apply: Schools only can apply on behalf of families and payments are made directly to the school.

State Schools' Relief (SSR)
Families can receive help if they have a child at a Victorian Government school in any year level and are facing serious financial difficulty or exceptional circumstances (health issues, natural disasters etc).
What can be provided: school uniforms, school shoes and other essential items.
Eligibility: To be eligible to receive the uniform package the student must be a Camps, Sports and Excursion Fund (CSEF) recipient. For students attending Victorian Government Primary or Secondary school in Victoria.
How to apply: Schools only can apply on behalf of families for this support.

St Vincent’s De Paul
What can be provided: May be able to assist with Year 7 education costs for those living in the Greensborough/Diamond Valley region.
Eligibility: Must be living in the Diamond Valley Region and hold a Centrelink Concession Card or be in financial crises.
How to apply: Contact local SVDP Conference via Society’s Welfare Assistance Line. Applicants interviewed with decisions made on case by case basis.

Diamond Valley Community Support (DVCS)
What can be provided: Available Nov – Feb DVCS offers Back to School financial assistance up to $100 per child or $500 per family (with 5 or more children). Assistance for school fees, books, educational items or activity. 
Eligibility:  Families must live in DVCS ER Boundary and hold a Centrelink Concession Card.
How to Apply: Application process with Community Support Worker at DVCS. Drop-in service.

Student Pass/PTV
What can be provided: a PTV Student pass is $310 half year or $594 whole year for unlimited travel on all train, tram and bus services within chosen zones
Eligibility: full time Victorian primary or secondary students

Council of Single Mothers & their Children
What can be provided: Telephone support, information and referrals for single mothers and their children throughout Victoria.
Eligibility: Must be a single mother living in Victoria.

The No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS)
What can be provided: Loan amounts from $300 to $1200 for essential goods and services, and Education essentials such as computers and text books.
Eligibility: Applicants must hold a Centrelink Concession Card, reside in current premises for more than three months & show a willingness and capacity to repay the loan.

Community & Volunteers of Eltham (CAVE)
What can be provided: Judith Ireland Studentships of $700 for grade 6 students going into year 7. Year-round assistance for secondary and primary school students is also available.
Eligibility: Studentships are currently available in 22 primary schools across Nillumbik and Banyule.  CAVE considers requests for support from any secondary or primary school in Nillumbik and Banyule, and can also provide financial support for specific requests by Scouts, Guides or Sports Clubs.
How to apply: Schools only can apply on behalf of families. Scouts, Guides and Sports Club requests must come through the leaders.

Banyule Support & Information Centre Inc (BANSIC)
What can be provided: Financial assistance for children at primary and secondary school who reside in postcodes 3079, 3081, 3084, and 3085. Assistance available from Dec – Feb. $100 per child, up to $300 per family (subject to availability).
Eligibility: Must hold a Centrelink Concession card and reside in postcodes 3079, 3081, 3084, and 3085

What can be provided: Educational grants to increase access to educational opportunities (up to $350).
Eligibility: Residency in Victoria for a minimum period of 12 months is required.
