Cross Cultural Training: Practical tips for working with CALD communities
The Banyule Nillumbik Youth Services Network (BNYSN) are hosting The Brotherhood of St Laurence will be running an informative and interactive session about working with CALD communties. Focusing on practical tips and strategies the session will be run by Ms Hutch Hussein, who heads up BSL’s Diversity Unit. Social work trained, over the past 20 years she has worked with people from refugee, migrant and asylum seeker backgrounds.
Himilo Community Connect will also be present on the day to share their stories of Somali settlement and services they provide to the Australian-Somali community in West Heidelberg.
This free training is open to anyone who works with young people in either or both the Banyule & Nillumbik regions (youth workers, housing workers, teachers, centrelink workers, volunteers etc.)
