Starting in July 2014, Youthlaw will be running a Friday Fines Day for free legal assistance to young people under 25.

We can assist you to:

  • Get a list of all of your fines
  • Understand your rights and responsibilities about getting fines
  • Understand the kinds of things you can be fined for
  • Understand what the Sheriff can and cannot do to get you to pay the fines
  • Understand when fines go up and how you can stop that from happening
  • Ask the Court to take into account if you were homeless, struggling with mental health issues or drug or alcohol issues or if you have an ID or ABI
