Loans and Savings Initiatives for people on concession cards or low income
The Brotherhood of St Lawrence have two initiatives that they have developed with ANZ to assist people 18 years and older to address financial problems.
Progress Loans are a low repayment loan designed to help people on concession and health care cards. The loans can be for things like education and medical expenses or to buy house hold goods or a car. Amounts available are $500-$3000 or $5000 for a car.
The SaversPlus program is for concession or health care card holders who have a child at school and who also have some regular income from work. The program will match dollar for dollar money saved up to $500. This money saved can contribute towards educational expenses.
