What's important to youth?

The Victorian Government wants to know What’s Important to YOUth to guide what we do with and for young Victorians aged from 12 to 24 years.

This survey is one of a number of ways we want to connect with young people over the next few months to find out the answers to this question.  The answers will be available on the Youth Central website in November.

Fill out this survey and go in the draw to win one of three iPads or Android tablets! Only one survey per person. The information you provide will be anonymous. Your email address will only be used to contact you to let you know if you are the lucky winner!

The Victorian Government are developing a new Youth Policy

The policy aims to build a coordinated approach to youth issues including education, training, employment, mental health, alcohol & drugs, housing, discrimination and transport

Young people aged 12 to 24 are encouraged to contribute to the development of the policy by completing an online survey which is open until 31 October.

All those who complete the survey not only contribute to the policy development but also go into the draw for the chance to win one of three iPads or Android tablets.

The survey closes on 31 October and wider community consultation will take place during September and October.

headspace for the north eastern suburbs - young people’s input needed

A new headspace centre to be located in Greensborough invites interested young people and their families and carers to help design the space in advance of its opening in early 2016.

This new centre will provide access to a wide range of youth mental health, drug and alcohol, primary health care, social welfare, education and employment services.

An important feature of headspace is the involvement of young people and their families in how a centre is built, designed and run. The outcome is a place that is friendly, safe and comfortable for young people, and one which focuses on their health and wellbeing.

We are also keen to talk to young people (aged between 12 and 25 years) who may want to be a part of an ongoing youth reference group. Families and carers can also be involved.

Information session

6:30 pm, 3 September, WaterMarc, 1 Flintoff Street, Greensborough

RSVP by 28 August - or phone Mary Swift on 9455 7900.
