Early in 2017 Banyule Council piloted a successful pop up park in Ibbotson Street, Watsonia. This pop up park provided a great opportunity for the local community to come together and connect with each other in a social and fun environment.
Recently, Councillors decided that they would pilot an alternative model of a pop-up skate park as a number of young people have expressed interest in the development of a skate park in Watsonia and this will provide an opportunity for consultation and assessment of its potential.
The pop up skate park is scheduled for the 3 weeks in January 2018 to provide activities for local children, young people and families to engage with over the school holidays as this is traditionally a quiet time of year. The park will be programmed with a broad range of activates for children, young people and families as we want all members of the community to feel welcomed and included.
We will be holding a public community meeting on Thursday November 16th at WaterMarc, 1 Flintoff Street, Level 4, Greensborough from 6-7pm to discuss ideas, concerns and programming opportunities and would like to encourage you to attend. RSVP’s to Richard.firstname.lastname@example.org
