Grants to run an activity on International Day of People with a Disability

Applications are now open for International Day of People with a Disability MetroAccess mini-grant.
Community groups and organisations are encouraged to apply for a grant to assist them to fund an inclusive community activity during the week of 29th November - 5th December 2010.
Activities should engage the broader Banyule community rather than just targeting the existing membership and should celebrate inclusive communities: including disability, cultural and linguistic diversity, gender, religious diversity and more.
Activities can be as creative as you like, some ideas include
- an art installation
- sports match
- public film screening
- public speakers/presentation
- outdoor drama event
- bbq for your community
- a lunchtime musical concert
If your community group or organisation are looking for ideas please go to the website www.idpwd.com.au for some inspiration! Mini-grants, up to $500 will be available to help support activities taking place in the Banyule municipality during Banyule's Ability week.
Closing date for all applications is Tuesday 2nd November 2010. All applicants will be notified of the outcome by Friday 5th November 2010.
