Dumbo Feather’s New Conversations competition is now open for high school students in year 9 and 10.
Dumbo Feather is a quarterly Australian magazine featuring interviews with amazing and inspirational people. This competition is all about the power of storytelling and helping you to develop your communication skills.
Prizes on offer include:
- An iPad
- A 1-year subscription to Dumbo Feather
- Plus cash prizes!
Winning entries will also be published in Dumbo Feather. So what's the delay? Tech, cash and fame await!
To enter, just interview someone who inspires you, and then write up your interview. You can tell your story in four ways:
- A 300-word summary of the interview
- A cartoon strip
- A video
- A written conversation in "question-and-answer" format
If you're looking for inspiration, you can check out last year’s winning interview with Lauryn aka Titanium Girl on the Dumbo Feather website.
If you want to get your whole class involved, there's also a free downloadable toolkit that you can pass on to your English or Media teacher, with lesson plans, digital worksheets and other resources to help you work on New Conversations in your classroom.
To enter the competition, just head to the Dumbo Feather website and fill in the online entry form
Entries close 5 September 2015.
