New Film Festival for Young People: Calling for entries!
FilmLife exists to capture the stories of organ donation and transplantation through the eyes of young filmmakers and we are doing a national shout out for entries.  Entries close on February 13 and films with be screened February 18 at an event in Parramatta and online! Anyone aged 16-35 can enter a film and there is a $10,000 prize pool.

Jets is planning to launch an exciting new program that will allow young people aged 15-24 to have free access to Jets. We're thinking free rehearsals (including free access to drumkits and amps), free access to computers, cameras and other equipment, as well as free training opportunities.

This will be a great opportunity to have access to heaps of professional equipment and expertise! To make sure the program is relevant and easy to access we need to know what would work best for YOU. So please let us know what you think.

Trop Jr Filmmaking Course

Learn all the skills needed to enter Australia's largest short film festival for kids - Trop Jr!
This five-day course spread over 11 weeks is designed to teach kids the skills to make a short film to be entered in Trop Jr.

During the course kids will get the inside scoop on scriptwriting, cinematography and sound recording. In their own time they'll shoot their film and then return to the Arts Centre to learn the art of post-production using our world--class editing facilities and vocal booth.

"Wasted on the Young" Compeition

There are 50 prize packs available for lucky entrants of the S-press 'Wasted on the Young' Competition. Each pack contains a Wasted on the Young DVD plus a T-shirt.

MAFMAD Film Competition
The 2011 "Make A Film. Make A Difference" competition is now open. It's quick and simple to enter and all you need is a fresh idea for a short film that will get your mates to think twice about taking risks on the road.
The theme is Party in the Car-we're looking for films that explore the dynamics between young people travelling together on a night out.
Two winners will be given $20,000 each to produce their film and will also receive a $5,000 cash prize.

Adapted from real stories, each short vignette captures the freedom of cycling eclipsed by momentary misjudgement. The impact is visceral, and you'll simultaneously wince and laugh at these unfortunate riders.

The City of Darebin are currently looking for 10 dedicated and enthusiastic young people, aged 15 – 18 to become members of their FReeZA program throughout 2011.
 
The FReeZA program is a Victorian State Government funded initiative that gives young people the opportunity to lead the planning and staging of live music and cultural events within their local communities. The one-year program gives all participants hands-on experience and accredited training in the Australian music industry through extensive event management, mentoring and networking opportunities.

Live On Stage Music grants available

The Live on Stage Program provides travel support for professional musicians (and their manager/representative) selected to showcase original Australian music at key international music trade fairs and international festivals. The maximum available is $10,000. It is expected the applicant will contribute to the cost of the international activity supported.
