Jets is planning to launch an exciting new program that will allow young people aged 15-24 to have free access to Jets. We're thinking free rehearsals (including free access to drumkits and amps), free access to computers, cameras and other equipment, as well as free training opportunities.

This will be a great opportunity to have access to heaps of professional equipment and expertise! To make sure the program is relevant and easy to access we need to know what would work best for YOU. So please let us know what you think.

HEYWIRE 2011: TELL YOUR STORY AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE

The 2011 National Talent Competition is now open, with some awesome prizes on offer for those of you who can RockIT, WriteIT, SnapIT, ShootIT or DesignIT.
 
If you're a young unsigned musician, writer, photographer, film maker or graphic designer, we want to hear from you.
 
By entering the National Talent Competition, you'll put yourself in the running to win prizes like a $3000 voucher or a 32GB Apple iPad, and have your work judged by industry hot shots in your chosen field.
 

Brunswick Music Festival
 

The City of Darebin are currently looking for 10 dedicated and enthusiastic young people, aged 15 – 18 to become members of their FReeZA program throughout 2011.
 
The FReeZA program is a Victorian State Government funded initiative that gives young people the opportunity to lead the planning and staging of live music and cultural events within their local communities. The one-year program gives all participants hands-on experience and accredited training in the Australian music industry through extensive event management, mentoring and networking opportunities.

An apprenticeship is a great way to gain a nationally recognised qualification that will improve your ability to enter the workforce or enhance your career or job prospects. Imagine getting paid to learn how to do something you love! Well you don't have to imagine, because Skills Victoria are running a competition right now where you could win tickets to a great music festival and see what it'd be like to be an apprentice in the music industry. To give you a taste of life as an apprentice, Skills Victoria are giving away:

Hello budding filmmakers!  Entry to Trop Jr 2011 is now open. If you are 15 years old or younger and love films, this is for you!

Just like big Tropfest, Trop Jr is a short filmmaking competition, but for young filmmakers. Not only do they encourage kids and teens to enter, they also encourage schools, clubs and community groups to get behind a camera and share your stories.

If you're 12-18 years old enter a poster or a short film that captures the essence of National Ride2School. There are great prizes up for grabs.

The Future Shots Sustainability Film Challenge for Young Victorians is now open.
Future Shots is a filmmaking challenge for all young people aged 25 and under living in Victoria.

With over $9000 in cash and prizes to be won, the challenge is to make a film of just three minutes or less, of any type or genre, that addresses one of the world's most important issues of today: sustainability. 

The Push is proud to announce Melbourne's annual music industry conference Face The Music returns to the Arts Centre for its third year, Friday 19 - Saturday 20 November, 2010.
The conference will include career development opportunities for musicians and music industry professionals of all levels and persuasions, as well as entry to middle level information for emerging artists and industry workers.

Registrations are now open for Screen It 2010.

Battle at the 'Bridge is calling all bands in the Nillumbik area (Eltham, Diamond Creek, Hurstbridge) to play at the Hurstbridge Battle on 29th August.
First Prize is 10 Hours recording time at Jets studios.

Attention Victorian songwriters!
Want to hone your songwriting skills with some of the music industry's best.
The Push's exciting and innovative free all ages songwriter's program, Push Songs, returns in 2010 (July 27 - August 31).
Six successful applicants will take part in 3 x 1.5 hour one on on song writing development sessions.
Push Songs is designed to help developing songwriters reach their full potential.

The Live on Stage Program provides travel support for professional musicians (and their manager/representative) selected to showcase original Australian music at key international music trade fairs and international festivals. The maximum available is $10,000. It is expected the applicant will contribute to the cost of the international activity supported. Just a reminder that the Get Equipped Music Equipment Competition will be closing on 28 May 2010
Through this competition, $25,000 worth of music equipment will be awarded to 15 young musicians or groups. The entries will be split into 5 categories based on music genres, with a total of 15 prizes awarded. The prizes for each category are:
