HEAT
is a FREE 12-week hospitality program, which is aimed at 16 to 25 year olds who are unemployed and/or not engaged in education and training and are ready to take the next step toward employment in the hospitality industry.
HEAT is currently taking referrals for the next program, which starts on Monday 23rd of January, 2012.

Trop Jr Filmmaking Course

Learn all the skills needed to enter Australia's largest short film festival for kids - Trop Jr!
This five-day course spread over 11 weeks is designed to teach kids the skills to make a short film to be entered in Trop Jr.

During the course kids will get the inside scoop on scriptwriting, cinematography and sound recording. In their own time they'll shoot their film and then return to the Arts Centre to learn the art of post-production using our world--class editing facilities and vocal booth.

Live Your Community - Sporting Mates

Live Your Community Sporting Mates is an exciting new program currently being launched by Extended Families Australia and Access for All Abilities in Banyule, Whittlesea and Nillumbik.
Sporting Mates provides volunteer support for children with disabilities to participate in sporting club and active recreation activities, assisting them to overcome barriers to inclusion and broaden their social networks.

Dealing with Exam Stress

Exams are a time when stress levels are higher than usual. Stress can be positive, helping students to stay motivated and focused. However, too much stress can be unhelpful - it can make your students feel overwhelmed, confused, exhausted and edgy. It's important to try and keep things in perspective for and to find ways of reducing stress if things seem to be getting on top of you.

Banyule L2P

The L2P learner driver mentor program is an initiative of VicRoads funded by the TAC to support young learner drivers who do not have access to a suitable vehicle or family members able to help them get the minimum 120 hours of driving experience they need before they can sit the Probationary Licence test. So far 53 local councils from all over Victoria have commenced or are intending to offer this program in their area. The Banyule Nillumbik LLEN is delivering L2P for the Banyule City Council.

Free Youth Writing Workshop - Writing Melbourne

Jump - Mentoring for young Artists


JUMP is Australia's largest national mentoring program for young and emerging artists.
JUMP helps young artists anywhere in Australia to work with industry leaders across a wide range of artforms.
Mentorship places lasting up to 10 months each are available for artists aged between 18-30 who are also in the first five years of their career.

L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program

The Banyule L2P learner driver mentor program is a community based program developed by VicRoads to support young people who face significant barriers in completing their mandatory 120 hours of on road driving experience.
If you're aged between 16 and 20 years and live or have strong connections with the City of Banyule, you hold a current Learner's Permit and are unable to access traditional family supports associated with learning to drive you should apply.

There are seven Neighbourhood Houses and Learning Centres across Banyule. Some of them are holding short courses especially for young people. Greenhills Neighbourhood House are running Yoga for Teenagers Classes, phone 9435 9287 for more information. The Livingstone Community Centre are running a H.I. Skillz Inc. Youth Community Education Program for 10-18 year olds, phone 9497 2014.

Diamond Valley Learning Centre - Found Program

The Cerebral Palsy Support Network is holding an Information Forum - 16+, What Now?   on Wednesday, 12 May, 2010 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Northcote Town Hall, 189 High St, Northcote.
