YACVic's Youth Reference Group (YRG) are doing some research about what young people think about police, and other law enforcement officers, and what sorts of experiences they have had with them.  It is a short survey and one lucky respondent will WIN A $100 JB-HI-FI VOUCHER!!!  

There are 50 prize packs available for lucky entrants of the S-press 'Wasted on the Young' Competition. Each pack contains a Wasted on the Young DVD plus a T-shirt.
 
Get involved! Read the key elements of the movie below to get an idea of the different themes involved and get ready to give your thoughts on one of the these topics.
 
Simply answer one of the four questions to enter the competition and to go into the draw to win one of the prize packs on offer.

The Push is looking for young battle MCs, poppers and lockers and 4 on 4 breakin' and jerkin' crews (aged up to 25 years) to compete in Our Backyard Qualifiers on Sunday September 18 at the Arts Centre (ANZ Pavilion).

Hello budding filmmakers!  Entry to Trop Jr 2011 is now open. If you are 15 years old or younger and love films, this is for you!

Just like big Tropfest, Trop Jr is a short filmmaking competition, but for young filmmakers. Not only do they encourage kids and teens to enter, they also encourage schools, clubs and community groups to get behind a camera and share your stories.

If you're 12-18 years old enter a poster or a short film that captures the essence of National Ride2School. There are great prizes up for grabs.

The Future Shots Sustainability Film Challenge for Young Victorians is now open.
Future Shots is a filmmaking challenge for all young people aged 25 and under living in Victoria.

With over $9000 in cash and prizes to be won, the challenge is to make a film of just three minutes or less, of any type or genre, that addresses one of the world's most important issues of today: sustainability. 

Have you ever had a problem that was really getting you down? Maybe it was a fight with a friend, troubles in your family or something else. Tell the crew at Bite Back all about how you dealt with the situation in 200 words or less and you could win an iPad 3G Wi-Fi and there are also a bunch of other prizes to be won.   It can be about absolutely anything and it's anonymous so don't hold back.

Registrations are now open for Screen It 2010.

Are you 18-30 years old, passionate about raising cultural awareness, promoting international understanding and encouraging youth development. Are you interested in Japan? Are you keen to represent young Australians?
Australia has been selected as one of 13 countries to particiapte in SWY23 (The 23rd Ship for World Youth Program). It will run from Jan 11 to March 3 2011.
The Japanese government are calling for applications from young Australians to be one of 11 to represent our country on the program.

Want to hone your songwriting skills with some of the music industry's best.
The Push's exciting and innovative free all ages songwriter's program, Push Songs, returns in 2010 (July 27 - August 31).
Six successful applicants will take part in 3 x 1.5 hour one on on song writing development sessions.
Push Songs is designed to help developing songwriters reach their full potential.
