New Film Festival for Young People: Calling for entries!
FilmLife exists to capture the stories of organ donation and transplantation through the eyes of young filmmakers and we are doing a national shout out for entries.  Entries close on February 13 and films with be screened February 18 at an event in Parramatta and online! Anyone aged 16-35 can enter a film and there is a $10,000 prize pool.

Trop Fest Junior

Hello budding filmmakers!  Entry to Trop Jr 2011 is now open. If you are 15 years old or younger and love films, this is for you!

Just like big Tropfest, Trop Jr is a short filmmaking competition, but for young filmmakers. Not only do they encourage kids and teens to enter, they also encourage schools, clubs and community groups to get behind a camera and share your stories.

Australian Poetry Slam

The search is on for Victoria's best spoken word poet, with heats being held all over Victoria. Entry is free. Heats are being held all over Victoria with the final at the State Library on November 19.
Speak, scream, howl, whisper or sing your original poem at the Australian Poetry Slam, an electric live event where the audience is the judge. Even if you don't have a poem to perform you can come along and help cheer the poets to victory.

Future Shots Competition

The Future Shots Sustainability Film Challenge for Young Victorians is now open.
Future Shots is a filmmaking challenge for all young people aged 25 and under living in Victoria.

With over $9000 in cash and prizes to be won, the challenge is to make a film of just three minutes or less, of any type or genre, that addresses one of the world's most important issues of today: sustainability.

Ship for World Youth - Applications Open

Are you 18-30 years old, passionate about raising cultural awareness, promoting international understanding and encouraging youth development. Are you interested in Japan? Are you keen to represent young Australians?
Australia has been selected as one of 13 countries to particiapte in SWY23 (The 23rd Ship for World Youth Program). It will run from Jan 11 to March 3 2011.
The Japanese government are calling for applications from young Australians to be one of 11 to represent our country on the program.

British Council Realise Your Dreams Award

The British Council "Realise Your Dreams" Award celebrates excellence in the arts and creative industries, and is offering young Australians the opportunity to jumpstart their career in the UK. Five awards will be given to candidates in 2010 to people in the early stages of their career.

Are you 12-24 and have a great idea that can make a difference?
The Prime Minister's Australian Youth Forum Challenge is about young people coming up with fresh ideas on how to engage other young people in their community. It can be anything - a project on how to address a local need or a way to promote a positive image of young people in your community.
The winning entries will be provided with funding of up to $15,000 to turn their idea into reality.
