Teens Classes: Holiday Classes

Holiday classes are a great introduction for those looking to join the term, try something new or keep up their skills between terms.

Our professional trainers are all highly skilled and experienced, and many of them are also practising performers. You can check them out on our Trainers Page.

Every class participant needs to have a consent form signed either by a legal parent or guardian (under 18's) before commencing classes. A new consent form must be signed each year. The teens classes consent form can be downloaded from the right of this page.


Monday 21 & 28 September - 6.00pm-7.30pm - 2 Sessions for $60.00

A teens only session introducing the basics on aerial apparartuses such as rope, tissu, static trapeze and aerial ring. Kick off with climbing and wrapping and progress to spinning, holding poses and learning sequences.

Thursdays 24 September & 1 October - 6.00pm-7.30pm - 2 Sessions for $64.00

A teens only chance to fly through the air on our indoor 'Petit Volant', or Little Rig. From basic swings to impressive twists and safe dismounts, there’s emphasis on sustainable technique. No experience necessary. To fly on our Petit Volant you must be minimum 150cm tall.

Royal Melbourne Show

2015 Royal Melbourne Show is Victoria’s largest and most iconic annual community event, held from Saturday 19 to Tuesday 29 September 2015 at Melbourne Showgrounds.

Push Songs - free songwriting

Free songwriting mentoring program, applications now open

Attention Victorian songwriters! Push Songs’ innovative and inspiring songwriting mentoring program continues throughout October and November and again it’s FREE! To develop your songwriting skills, successful applicants will take part in 3, one on one songwriting workshops alongside Charles Jenkins and mentors Jess Cornelius (Teeth and Tongue), Hayden Calnin, Phoebe Baker (Alpine) and Fraser A. Gorman.

Participants will also be invited to join the Tuesday Night Song Club and meet and share ideas and live performance opportunities with fellow songwriters. Push Songs is open to anyone from anywhere in Victoria of any age, and the program is based in Brunswick. Apply here by October 5

Jets ArtLounge

Banyule City Council’s Jets Creative Arts Facility is introducing a new pilot program in Term 4, 2015 for young people between 16-28 years with a disability.

The program is for young people interested in hanging out with friends and at the same time learning about and creating some art in a casual and relaxed space.

The theArtLounge program will run on Thursday’s between 4:30-7:30pm. Young people must book in to be a part of the program however can attend anytime between these times.

The program is Free during the Pilot program for all young people and a light dinner will be provided.

Dates for the program are:

15 October,22 October, 29 October, 5 November, 12 November, 19 November, 26 November and 3 December.

There are limited places available so if you or your young person is interested in attending this program please fill in a Jets Creative Arts Program Expression of Interest form and return to Jets as soon as possible. The EOI form can be found on our website at

Darebin Youth Services Teenage Holiday Program

Darebin Teenage School Holiday Program

The Darebin Youth Services Teenage Holiday Program is largely subsidised by the government and is aimed at young people 
who have few or no opportunities to fund their holiday activities. Therefore priority is given to: 
• School & agency referrals
• Young people & families with a health care card
• Young people that have not attended the program before

Am I eligible?
• Ages are between 12 – 21years (please refer to the activity for age details)
• You must live, work or play in the City of Darebin

How do I book?

What's important to youth?

The Victorian Government wants to know What’s Important to YOUth to guide what we do with and for young Victorians aged from 12 to 24 years.  

This survey is one of a number of ways we want to connect with young people over the next few months to find out the answers to this question.  The answers will be available on the Youth Central website in November.

The Victorian Government are developing a new Youth Policy

The policy aims to build a coordinated approach to youth issues including education, training, employment, mental health, alcohol & drugs, housing, discrimination and transport

Young people aged 12 to 24 are encouraged to contribute to the development of the policy by completing an online survey which is open until 31 October.

All those who complete the survey not only contribute to the policy development but also go into the draw for the chance to win one of three iPads or Android tablets.

The survey closes on 31 October and wider community consultation will take place during September and October.

VACSAL/Ballarat Junior Koorie Football/Netball Carnival

Players Wanted!

VACSAL and Ballarat are holding the Junior Koorie Football & Netball Carnival in Ballarat during the September school holidays.

Fitzroy Stars are looking for players for football and netball for this 2 day event. 

Under 17s, 15s and 12s foodball and netball.

If you are interested in playing in this event we will be having training every Sunday
